Biographical Note

Frederick Childe Hassam was an American Impressionist painter, who produced etchings and lithographs as well as oil and watercolor paintings. His etching, The Writing Desk, was donated to the Colleges by Robert North, Jr., in memory of his wife, Marion de Mauriac North WS 1932.
